Artists

Mirano Fujita
Mirano Fujita is known for her lyrical cover illustrations for girls’ magazines and frontispieces from the 1950s and 60s. Her work is notable for the way in which it depicts both graceful feminine beauty and a strength that borders on aloofness. After moving to Paris in the 1970s, Fujita began producing posters for European audiences, winning high acclaim for the polished technique and tranquil air of her work. This exhibition showcases a number of previously unexhibited illustrations from Junior Bungei and Cobalt Books as well as pieces produced during her time in Paris.
