This screening session features works selected by Chie Matsui herself, ranging from her early minimalist work "She Reaches" (2000) to recent pieces from her Heidi series.
Matsui is a graduate of the Kyoto City University of the Arts who made her name as an installation artist exhibiting at the Venice Biennale, Site Santa Fe and more. Since 2000 she has been devoting her attention to video, appearing in her own works that feature footage of harborfront warehouses, mountains and forests. Also on display alongside her newest works from the Heidi series are related sketches and drawings.
