A major exhibition featuring work by some of Australia’s most important art photographers is opening on August 20 at The 8th Gallery (CLASKA 8F) in Meguro, Tokyo. “Beautiful South” is an eclectic mix of images that looks at the humanistic schema and presents nine distinct personal visions of the world.

The exhibition centers on the work of Emmanuel Angelicas, Kevin Ballantine, Michael Gray, Lozzlo, Max Pam, Jack Pam, Michelle Taylor, Juha Tolonen and Toni Wilkinson. The breadth and depth of the exhibition allows room to explore the multifaceted nature of contemporary Australian art photography.

There is no over arching theme but a glimpse into the worlds of the photographers highlighting their virtuosity and the diversity of their work. Each photographer has selected a series of images that is representative of their work. The artists involved give a combined focus on the visuality of the photographic medium and present a unique imagery of documentary and choreographed photography.
