Chiba City Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Shuzo Takiguchi, Marcel Duchamp et al.
Shuzo Takiguchi (1903-79) was one of the first writers and critics to promote the acceptance of Marcel Duchamp's work in Japan. After meeting Duchamp during a visit to Salvador Dali's home, Takiguchi began corresponding with the French artist and continued to maintain close links to Duchamp up until his last days.

This exhibition showcases some 300 works and archival materials that introduce visitors to the exchange and friendship between Takiguchi and Duchamp, including a selection of pieces by contemporaries and artists whom Takiguchi maintained close links to, including Jasper Johns, Man Ray, Shusaku Arakawa and Kazuo Okazaki.
