"Danjuro Ichikawa: The World of Aragoto" Exhibition

"Aragoto" is a term from the traditional Japanese theatre form kabuki denoting a style where a brawny hero displays rough movements, a chance for a performer to shine their talents on the stage. This exhibition features around 60 props, costumes, ukiyoe and more in celebration of kabuki and aragoto, first developed with by Danjuro Ichikawa I and famously continued by successors in the Ichikawa family line.
