"Japanese Kawaii Culture from the Taisho era onwards" Exhibition

Yayoi Museum
Finished
The birth of Japan's "fancy goods" can be traced to the Nihonbashi shop in Tokyo run by the Taisho era Romantic artist Yumeji Takehisa, which sold Art Nouveau colored papers and other ornamental playthings. This exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of the advent of the Taisho era, looking back at an entire century of Japanese "kawaii" culture.
