Yui Higashibata was raised in a family engaged in lacquer work (Makieshi) in Kyoto and trained under a lacquerer after high school.

At this exhibition, approximately 20 works will be on display, including a plant design work “Kusaami" (grass knitting), which is constructed of several divided pieces, along with lacquered paintings.
