“Inaudible Sound” was originally a one-day event scheduled for March 19th, 2011 but it was inevitably canceled due to the confusion right after the Tohoku earthquake. Those sounds, which literally could not be heard, continued to be quiet despite the chaotic society caused by the great calamity, and I could not forget those unheard sounds.
After more than a year, “Inaudible Sound” is being set up as an exhibition by three artists who were expected to be part of the previous event. This exhibition is not intended to represent the event but to reinterpret from a different perspective the “pure silence” generated by the discontinuity between 3.11 and after.
