Artists

Natsuyuki Nakanishi
One of Japan's most important contemporary artists, Natsuyuki Nakanishi (1935–) has been exploring the philosophy and practice of painting, questioning the notions surrounding the medium itself for more than half a century. This exhibition showcases his unique experiments and investigations into the nature of light, time, repetition, and dispersion, including early pieces from the late 50s, representative aluminum works made with clothes pegs, and striking new works in purple and white.
