Where in the photographs of Domestic Scandals, Yasumura took a rather long view, allowing the viewer to consider details only amidst a very particular suburban domestic context, with the present series, Yasumura generally follows a more micro vision, focusing on details to the point of abstraction. Counterintuitively, the context-less images offer a wider array of possible literal readings. At once familiar and uncanny, the selection of 1/1 photographs represent a long-awaited continuation and development within Yasumura's practice.
