Romano Hänni
Romano Hänni (*1956) was born in Basel, Switzerland. Following a apprenticeship as a typesetter (1973 –77), he studied typographic design at Basel School of Design. He opened his studio in 1980. He develops various typographic concepts, including those for the Art Basel catalog (1982 – 96) and the newspaper Basler Zeitung (1983 – 2003), while creating hand printed books at his type shop. This exhibition both shows and offers for sale his book “Typographic Notes II”, special volumes of collected works (originally published in the Typographic Magazine TM in 1992 and 2010), and books made by his students.
