A rooftop is a somewhat useless area from the perspective of building structure. However, what appears to be a dead space still exists between the earth and the sky in Tokyo. It has a hidden charm which cannot be detected from the ground, like a secret garden. This collection of photos consists of 60 pictures of diverse rooftops in Tokyo, taken between 1989-1995 and 2009-2011. There are buildings featured that have already been torn down or rebuilt with a new look.
