Tomoko Fukushi
Tomoko Fukushi graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2005 and took the Grand Prix in the 2011 Spiral "SICF12". She has contributed installations to a range of semi-public spaces, including the street painting project that was one part of the Tokyo Art Point Project, and a work for the art decorations that transformed the scaffolding that surrounded the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre when it was under renovation in 2011 and 2012.
This solo exhibition is a new installation that will see the gallery converted into a fictional airport space, playing with the boundaries of inside/outside, safety/danger that emerge from the embarkation process, intermingled with the elation and uncertainty felt before passengers board.
