Helmut Schmid
Helmut Schmid (b.1942), who has played an active part in the field of graphic design and typography,
settled as an independent designer in Osaka in 1981. As a reflection of his belief “Design is Attitude”, he also created numerous experimental works on individual, social or political themes. In the 1970s, he created 15 political posters which represent typographic interpretations of selected social democratic messages in accordance with his own political opinion. In addition to these 15 posters, the documents of the time will be shown.

(Politypographien is a coined term consisting of these two words : Politik [politics] and Typographie [typography].)
