This exhibition showcases some 10 photos by Irving Penn drawn from a body of work consisting of portraits commissioned by Vogue between 1946 and 1950. These portraits combine a unique surface quality that won him incredible success in the fashion world with a certain austerity and gravity, presenting the viewer with a curious paradox.
