The Maldives is a republic formed from around 1,200 large and small islands, an atoll created out of a delicate balance with nature that is now in danger from rising sea levels.

For this exhibition Japanese artists conducted research on site in the Maldives, observing the differences between their respective cultures. The results are here presented across multiple genre and media, from six Japanese artists and two Maldives, themed around the environment, customs and culture.
