Nana Yokoi
Nana Yokoi's early works centered on films made out of drawings, a practice that then shifted to the drawings themselves, and then to painting. Her fantastic worlds tinged with a hint of maliciousness are populated by mermaids, young boys and girls, birds and insects. This exhibition, named for the butterfly wings and insect scales found in several of these new works, will include new paintings that she has produced in recent years.
