Born in Aix-en-Provence, Cezanne left for Paris in the early 1860s with dreams of being a successful painter. Subsequently, he made more than 20 trips back and forth between the capital and his hometown, drawing inspiration from the variation in settings that exerted a definitive influence on his work.
