Bjork
Biophilia is a multimedia project launched by the Icelandic singer Bjork that includes a studio album, a touch screen app, a website, custom-made musical instruments, live performances, and educational workshops. Inspired by natural phenomena, from the atom to outer space, Biophilia makes full use of various technologies to go beyond music and offer new ways of experiencing the world.

The Miraikan now presents an exhibition based on Bibliophilia’s combination of technology, music, and the study of nature. Visitors can enjoy displays such as the pendulum-shaped, gravity-controlled Gravity Harp and the Singing Tesla Coil, which generates electricity and emits high-pitched sounds, as well as several custom-made instruments used on Bjork’s tours.

The “Creativity as a Learning Tool” workshop lets children develop creativity and participate in hands-on learning about music and science through technology. Using the Bibliophilia app, kids explore the themes of songs and make their own music as the “science communicator” and music instructor teaches them about the connections between nature and art.
