“Homage to Renoir - Renoir and Painters of the Twentieth Century”
This event has ended.
Renoir is known as a forefather of the early impressionist movement, however his female portraits and flower motifs from the late 1890’s, imbued with a delicate sense of feeling and executed with the precision of a craftsman, have come to draw respect from artists across the ages. His work not only attracted collectors and art critics but also enchanted the young artists amongst his contemporaries. This exhibition features 14 examples of Renoir’s work split across 4 central themes while at the same time placing a spotlight on the artists of the 20th century across both Europe and Japan, who came under his influence, from Picasso to Ryuzaburo Umehara.
