Through the breeding of pythons Mrs Yuki have come to develop a body of work which combines animals and the spaces of everyday human life and gives rise to diversity through the artificial promulgation of breeds, which, while a seemingly unnatural act, has become the common state of affairs in the world today. This work is an experiment in genetics, in which the hierarchy of genes is manipulated by human intervention, imposing control upon the color and pattern of life which simultaneously holds a power over us all. And through this action the artists pose the question as to what our essential, natural state of expression may be.
