Artists

Kazuki Umezawa
Having recently appeared in Mori Museum’s “Love Exhibition”, Kazuki Umezawa is an artist who creates vast complex collages of images and data fragments dispersed across the internet. Across his works appear the motifs of numerous characters, yet as they are all unified through the plane of RGB coloring, it becomes impossible to trace their origin. With the flattening of these data fragments he reconstructs them in a new composition which allows us to grasp upon their new possibilities.
This exhibition compromises largely of new work along with a collaboration work with AR3bros, utilizing the cutting edge technology of augmented reality. In this work Umezawa plays upon the layers of reality by capturing the characters which have seemingly been released into the physical world and returning them to the screen, creating a new cross over between reality and fiction which surpasses the frame of the “picture”.
