Enjoy Works of Japanese Art and Design!

MOA Museum of Art
Finished
Works of art can be anything, from the arrangement of plants and animals to natural phenomena like the checkered pattern on a tortoise's shell. Japanese design, while taking in influences from external patterns of countries such as China and gradually making them their own, also have it's own unique patterns, with both a part of the country's design history. This exhibition focuses on pictures, ornaments, ceramics, and lacquer-ware products from the Yayoi-era until the present in order to better understand Japanese aesthetic sensibilities. From Yayoi-era fashion, to the Kamakura-era picture boxes, to the edo-era artist Nonomura Ninsei's pottery, this space will have many examples on display for your inspection!
