This exhibition reviews 400 years of Mikawachi ware, first developed in the kilns of Hirado in the Edo period for the exclusive use of feudal lords and then over the course of the Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods becoming famed for its production in the royal kilns and its export to Europe and America. This is accompanied by special features of a market of 1000 saucers as well as 100 rice bowls.
