Garry Winogrand
Taka Ishii Gallery Photography/Film presents the solo exhibition Garry Winogrand focused upon two of his most well-known works, “The Animals / Women Are Beautiful.” Influenced by Robert Frank, Winogrand began taking street snapshots in the early 1960s and went on to become one of the leading figures of photography in the U.S. between the 1960s-80s. The current exhibition, Winogrand’s first solo exhibition in Japan, will include approximately 20 prints from the 1970s and 1980s which have been selected from his series “The Animals” (1969) and “Women Are Beautiful” (1975).
