Ai Ryumon “The Chrysanthemum and the Fish”

Imura Art Gallery Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Ai Ryumon
In homage to the cultural anthropologist Ruth Benedict’s study on Japan “The Chrysanthemum and the Sword”, Ai Ryumon presents a collection of work based on the theme of “The Chrysanthemum and the Fish”, along with the “Tourist Spot Series” she has been developing since 2010, in a re-rendering of the outside image of Japan from within, combining Japanese tradition with the sense of the everyday.
