“Tea Aesthetics - The Tea of Soetsu Yanagi”

Japan Folk-Craft Museum
Finished
In the first tea ceremony held at the Folk-Craft Museum in 1955, its organizer Soetsu Yanagi selected highly unique tea pots and utensils, reflecting his doctrine that if the tea set is not beautiful then one can not make tea. This exhibition gathers together the implements from that first tea ceremony along with those featured in a special exhibition in 1958 and opens up a new insight into the tea of Soetsu Yanagi.
