Erika Kobayashi
115 years ago Marie Curie made pioneering contributions to research on radioactivity. She discovered the new element of radium, which gave off a strange blue-white light, but was this discovery really the wish of humanity? As a result of developments upon her research we have faced the Manhatten Project, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Three Mile, Chernobyl and now Fukushima. Erika Kobayashi takes the characters of “Light” and “Alvin” the cat and traces the history of radiation, moving between fact and fiction to weave a detailed narrative, with a collection of original illustrations and neosilk series.
