Tatsuoki Nambata
Tatsuoki Nambata (1905-1997) was one of the pioneers of abstract painting in Japan. Throughout a career that spanned 70 years and included both abstract and figurative work, he consistently peered inside his subjects when creating his images. By focusing on his figurative works, including early oil paintings and sketches, this exhibition investigates the foundations of Nambata's oeuvre .
