Mario Giacomelli
Italian-born photographer Mario Giacomelli's (1925~2000) work was first introduced in to Japan in a Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography exhibition in 2008. With this exhibition, Giacomelli uses a high contrast between black and white to signify the difference between life and death. The other works in this collection include photos of the commune of Scanno, Italy and it's resident's lives, along with the photos documenting the lives of theology students.
