The Vangi Sculpture Garden Museum
Finished

Artists

Bruno Munari
The Italian artist Bruno Munari is renowned for his breadth of creative engagements from painting and sculpture, to picture books and children’s toys, graphic design and product design. Born in Milan in 1907, Munari worked through the 20th century with richly witty intelligence and unique imagination, always surprising people with his inspiring works. This exhibition draws attention to the humor and ingenuity found in his wide grasp upon the world. On the occasion of his son’s 5th birthday in 1945 Munari created an original picture book, and from this point onwards he continued to develop a wide range of books and toys as part of an art education program in order to enrich the senses of children, who he saw as the future of society. Taking the key word of “Fantasia” this exhibition introduces the work of Munari which extends beyond the frame of art and design and allows audiences playful hands on experiences of his picture books and toys.
