This exhibition brings together a confrontation in time and space between the Nihonga collection of the University Art Museum, Kyoto City University of the Arts and the work of young contemporary artists, in commemoration of 130 years since the founding of the university, placing a spotlight upon the cultural sensibility of Kyoto with the charm and vitality of its pleasure quarters combined with a searching self caught between tradition and the contemporary world.
