Utilizing traditional techniques of nihonga, Kengo Nakamura merges this with forms of manga, popular characters, apartment plans and email messages in a unique conceptual mix of tradition and the familiar everyday of the contemporary world. This exhibition features his most recent work in the “Emoticon” series, including 3 large scale paintings recently shown in the Isetan Shinjuku Store exhibition “Gift of Art”.
