Since ancient times human kind has attempted to bring form and color to the structure and essence of the world, making visible that which lies beyond the eye. This exhibition explores questions of the universality of image production and appreciation through 600 art works and artifacts from numerous eras and regions, selected from the collection of the National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka, bringing together masks, effigies and contemporary art all together under one roof.
