Tomio Koyama Gallery Roppongi

Artists

Yuko Okazaki
In her second solo exhibition at Tomio Koyama gallery, Yuko Okazaki presents a series of new works which make a return to her roots, the signature vessels inspired by haguro dragonflies which she first approached in her early years of training. “While patterns of wings spreading freely expand to suggest flight, they also resemble the net of a set trap. And yet it is precisely when I am creating these nets that I feel most innocent and open without limits”. (introduction by the artist). Among the ceramic works resembling freely spread wings, Okazaki’s first attempts at an original interpretation of “Rakuwan” are also presented.
