Kyoko Murase
Murase has charted new territory with each exhibition. Her paintings, which depict female figures in various contexts such as water, caves, and forests, are characterized by delicate yet strong brushwork and unique compositions creating the impression that the subjects and the ground have reversed position. In Murase’s recent works, which display particularly sophisticated technique, the painted elements appear to resonate on the canvas, expanding the possibilities of the medium even further.
