“Projec N 55 Emi Otaguro”

Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery
Finished

Artists

Emi Otaguro
Otaguro makes use of quail’s eggs, chewing gum, plaster, vinyl sheet, table cloth and various other mass produced forms. Drawing on a host of different materials and techniques, at first glance her various works may appear to be unrelated but all hold a particular link to her. opening up character and diversity from mass produced consumables, and joining these with images of a spun narrative, these works develop a particular psychological resonance with the viewer. Improvisation and light wit are combined with images likened to symbols, questioning the human self and come to exude a strange power which can not be separated from the viewers mind, chiming with the mentality of those living in the contemporary age.
