“The World of Romantic Ballet - When Ballerina’s Became Nymphs”

New Otani Art Museum
Finished
Emerging from a moment of great instability in European history after the French Revolution the Romantic Ballet was popularized by the leading figures of Marie Taglioni and Fanny Elssler. These stars are featured here in this exhibition through a series of 90 popular prints, their letters and associated music scores, allowing us a glimpse into the context and development of a unique dance form.
