Shuzo Takiguchi
Shuzo Takiguchi was known as a poet, art critic, and the introducer of surrealism to Japan. A leading figure of Japanese avant-garde art, he provided inspiration to countless young artists before and after WWII. He served as the commissioner of the 1958 Venice Biennale and later traveled across Europe meeting figures including Andre Breton and Marcel Duchamp. After returning to Japan, he produced watercolors, burnt and motor-powered drawings, decals, and other works. This exhibition introduces his works and their varied techniques.
