Tsuguharu Foujita "Book Design in Japan"

The Hibiya Library Museum
Finished

Artists

Tsuguharu Foujita
There was an illustrated book scene on the rise when Tsuguharu Foujita moved to Paris in 1913, and the artist poured his energy into creating his own works. From illustrated books and book bindings to magazine covers, this exhibition will introduce a wide range of Foujita's book-related works, the majority of which have not yet been exhibited in Japan. Also on display will be photos and records of Foujita's time in his Chiyoda Ward atelier, taken by photographer Ken Domon.
