Artists

Kana Yoshida
Kana Yoshida is an artist who produces work with her body, and while this doesn’t necessarily link with performance art, one may clearly feel the presence of the artist while looking upon her work, based on her experiences of walking mountains, climbing cliffs and diving in oceans. Rather than paint what she sees, she expresses something drawn from physical experience. This exhibition includes not only works on panel, but also a series of new relief works which make up a forest, the landscapes of which appear to change as one walks through it, a great tree fallen here, the range of vision suddenly opening up there in abuilding of memory and experience. Just as each individual tree is separate but comes together to form the entire forest, each individual work is filled with a particular interest, while all also making up part of the overall installation. Here the viewer is invited to take a stroll in such a forest, encounter it numerous landscapes and enjoy the widening possibilities of art.
