Artists

Hasui Kawase
As a major retrospective of the wood block print work of Hasui Kawase, who captured scenes from across Japan between the Taisho and Showa periods, this exhibition celebrates 130 years since his birth including not only an overwhelming collection of his major works but also accompanying documentation such as preparatory studies, his diaries and print variations displayed to the public for the first time. This is an exhibition which throws new light upon the man himself and his creative process.
