Taro Okamoto “Faces and Masks”

Taro Okamoto Museum of Art, Kawasaki
Finished

Artists

Taro Okamoto
Faces often appear in the paintings of Taro Okamoto. Sometimes they take up the entirety of the work, and sometimes they are painted as compiled images that tie in with other motifs. Masks are also a common feature of Okamoto’s art, and it is often difficult to distinguish between the two from titles alone. This exhibition attempts to explain Okamoto’s works from the perspective of “faces” and “masks.”
