Started in 2009, this annual public art extravaganza transforms the Roppongi area.
Art museums and other participating venues will open late and this year's program is themed around "trip: witness today's transformation into tomorrow"
Artist director Katsuhiko Hibino says:
Today lasts as long as you are awake
And tomorrow arrives when you wake up
Night resides in between
Witness the transformation!
Imagination has seen the light
Because of the very existence of darkness
Power of art is a product of darkness
While the daytime keeps pace with time
Darkness transcends time
"Roppongi Art Night" is a night
That artists’ boats call at ports in Roppongi
Treasures from imagination are onboard
Let us navigate our own boats
And load the treasures of artists
