This event has ended.

For over 40 years, Jiro Takamatsu has produced works exploring the common themes of the relations between objects and meaning, ways of seeing and absence. His series titled “Point”, “Shadow”, “Oneness”, and “Compound”, take various forms of these motifs and give expression to Takamatsu’s way of thinking.

Yumiko Chiba Associates has featured Takamatsu’s solo exhibition on an annual basis, introducing the development of his ideas, seeking to offer a new perspective on his works. This year the gallery gives focus to “Perspective” and “Space in Two Dimensions” as seen in his approach to space from the position of absence, featuring a series of relief drawings of “Perspective” and providing valuable insight into the concepts of Jiro Takamatsu at a time of increasing interest in his work and the Japanese art of the ’70s.
