Stepping into the Aokigahara Jukai forest, curator Knüll Vøid and contributing artists Thom Smith and Nanook were confronted with a place of utter isolation in this ancient forest and uncovered recent human remains at various abandoned campsites, in a cathartic experience which has made a profound impact on the work of each artist.
