Ryusuke Kido “To Switch or To Not Switch - Which?”

LIXIL Gallery 1 & 2

Artists

Ryusuke Kido
Across his body of work Ryusuke Kido has employed semi-permanent materials such as marbel, wood and metal to capture the ever changing forms of water and fire, and reflect upon the imprecision of our contemporary understanding.
In this exhibition Kido presents work from the series “Ash” first initiated in 2012, in which he reduces materials of camphor and marble to incense, and from this powder creates forms such as lego block cities and an installation of switches in a challenge towards that which we see before our eyes.
