Kazuo Ohno Festival 2013 - Physical Expression as the Spirit of the Age

BankArt Studio NYK
Finished
The Kazuo Ohno Festival was initiated in 2004 and this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. Year by year the festival has grown and extended its reach and this time it again brings emphasis to the manner in which Ohno approached the spirit of the age through his dance through a wide variety of events. In the first floor hall 3 dance companies will be in residence, rehearsing and performing their productions, while the 3rd floor will host moving image centred around contemporary dance, along with an archive exhibition, as well as examining dance on the internet. As part of an international program the director of Centre Chorégraphique National de Rillieux-la-Pape Yuval Pick presents a leading dance company. In addition celebrations will be also held for Kanze Hideo Day, in commemoration of Hideo Kanze, a master of theatre who held a strong friendship with Ohno.
