This event has ended.

Shogun Tadaoki Hosokawa was one of tea ceremony master Sen Rikyu’s seven disciples. His tea boxes were said to be some of the most valuable in Japan during the Senkoku period. In commemoration of the 450th year since Hosokawa’s birth, this exhibition presents his prized “shiroito” tea box and other tea utensils spanning 700 years of Hosokawa clan history.

The exhibition will be held in two sessions: 6/22 (Sat)-7/28 (Sun) and 7/31 (Wed)-9/23 (Mon/national holiday). Some displayed works will change between sessions.
