Artists

Yurina Shiomi
Yurina Shiomi is an artist whose work expresses through textiles the depths of the human body and mind. The acclaimed “Hanging Billy” is a work that refers to multiple personality disorder sufferer Billy Miligan, as a strange patchwork sculptural form, with 24 hands, hanging from a swing bar by a single chain. This is an installation which allows the viewer to experience the isolation of the self as it is engulfed by 23 other personalities.
“2780” is a new work from Shiomi which reflects upon the restrictions of life in an installation weighing the same as Shimoi did at birth.
